Mitch & Cindy's bareboat charter to BVI!

Cindy and I went on a week sailing trip to the British Virgin Islands this past week, starting March 29th, 1996. We, along with our some of our best friends (Tom & Kelly from Atlanta, GA and Jeff & Laura from Conifer, CO) chartered a catamaran from Sunshine Charters. We chartered it as a bareboat which means we are the crew. The cat is called WindSwept and boy was she beautiful: 40' Norseman catamaran with a 25' beam (width)! Talk about roomy! It has four staterooms with double beds, two electric heads, large salon and kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, stove & oven. Not exactly roughing it by any means.

Here is a picture of WindSwept with my lovely wife Cindy on the back port pontoon rinsing off after swimming.
Yes, her legs really are that long! Okay, that's enough. Quit looking now. ;)

To the left is WindSwept from further out so you can see how large the mast is. There is a mainsail with three reefing positions, lazy jacks, and an electric winch for raising the "main piece of cake". She also has a self-furling Genoa ("Ginny") out front which is larger than a jib.

Here is Laura and uh, my back, in the kitchen.

Here we all are. From the left: Laura & Jeff, Mitch & Cindy, Tom & Kelly.

Mitch and Jeff hang out trying not to look stressed. And probably comtemplating how to get Diet Coke cheap. We went through about four gallons of rum but ran out of DC about four days into the trip.

This is Saba Rock, which is just large enough   for a dinghy dock, a bar, and a generator (well, they must have one...). I forgot what I was looking for here. Probably wondering where the rest of the gang is. I wanted to get a Red Stripe...
